Heart-shaped bowls…. 4/2024
After creating the flower bowl, I wanted to attempt an endgrain heart-shaped bowl.
A similar, yet slightly different, process was used to create the heart-shaped bowls. This time, however, after the first pour, I flipped the blank to add more resin to the pieces that were sticking out above the mold resulting in a thicker blank.
Concerned about centering, I made a test blank from a solid piece of ash. I’m glad I did, because it allowed me to tweak my approach to the resin before it was too late. And, although, I wasn’t as pleased with the direct center placement of the “bowl” section, the grain was intriguing and so I went with the flow!
