Welcome! Hello 2024!
Welcome to Birdsong Birdhouses, located in Nazareth, PA! Artist and naturalist Lydia Golas hand-crafts each piece mostly from reclaimed, late 18th- to 19-century American barn wood. The result is a unique work of art that spans past and present, human and nature.
You can find upcoming show dates under the Events tab. However, if you are unable to attend a show, you are always welcome to contact us for in-person shopping experience in the showroom, order a commissioned piece, or request something to be shipped.
Birdsong Birdhouses are not merely decorative. All are built to house nesting wild birds, with attention given to factors such as hole and cavity size specifications, ventilation, drainage, weatherproofing, and easy clean out. If you have a particular bird you would like to attract to your backyard, let me know and I will design one specifically for that species, as well as provide you with information to help make your location more enticing.
In 2019 we started “Branching Out” building and turning new, different and exceptional creations from the same fabulous materials!
The Birdhouse gallery and the “Branching Out” gallery are both constantly being updated with photos of new builds, so please keep an eye on the page and visit often!
You can also follow all the behind the scenes antics and high jinks on our Facebook page!
See something you like? You can contact us here. All items vary in price. This website is geared towards showing you all of the pieces I have created. Through the contact page you are able to request a specific item. If it is not available a similar piece can be created to satisfy your desires.
We’re also always on the lookout for exciting new materials with which to build Birdsongs! If you or someone you know has an old barn or shed in the northeast United States that you would like to have lovingly dismantled, old planks lying about no longer in use, or adornments with which you would not mind parting, please get in touch.
Bring a Birdsong to your backyard!
