My Mountains! 4/2025

Every now and again, I need to take some time for myself.

If you know me at all, you know that I am a pebble picker.  Pretty sure it all started when I took the kids to Wyoming for 10 days.  When they were little. I mean, I’ve always liked rocks, but man, the rocks from out west are something other worldly; simply beautiful.

And so, when a beautiful pebble catches my eye, and it is a day or location worth remembering, into my pocket it goes.

When on a trip, I will usually purchase a small bowl to hold the pebbles from that adventure….resulting in many bowls of pebbles all over my house!

Well, when my house flooded and everything needed to be packed up for months everything got dirty and needed to be washed, including all my pebbles!  Weeeellllll…. I really thought I would remember which pile went with which bowl, ummm, not so much, and so they started to get mixed.

And I have always said, “I may not recall exactly where I got the pebble, but I know it was a really good day, and that makes me smile.”

So as I was cleaning them I was trying to figure out a way to condense them, but still be able to see them, as well as add to them, and I envisioned THIS!!!

I wasn’t sure if it was even possible, but once I got past two major hurdles, there was no turning back!  It looks better than the photos can capture.

As I installed it, it was pretty awesome placing each stone.  Lots of awesome adventures, and special memories.

I’m calling it, “Oma’s Adventures”🥰

From my brain to fruition….
